After getting Saturday’s 5-2 win off, Davis Schneider is slotting back into the Toronto Blue Jays lineup Sunday as they go for a sweep of the San Diego Padres.

Ernie Clement, who delivered a pinch-hit single in the win, will also make his return to the starting nine as the Blue Jays face off against Joe Musgrove.

Schneider will play second base and bat sixth, and Clement will play third and hit eighth.

The 25-year-old Schneider is hitting .220/.289/.415 with two home runs and eight RBI in 16 games this season. Sunday’s start will mark his sixth in Toronto’s last eight games.

Clement, meanwhile, has slashed .293/.302/.439 with one home run, eight runs scores and three RBI, also in 16 games to begin 2024.

The “Buffalo Boys” will slot into the starting lineup in place of Isiash Kiner-Falefa and Cavan Biggio, who combined to go 1-for-5 with a walk last night.

The Blue Jays are keeping their top-five of George Springer, Vladimir Guerrero Jr., Bo Bichette, Justin Turner and Daulton Varsho intact. Danny Jansen will get his second start of the series in place of Alejandro Kirk behind the plate and Kevin Kiermaier is back patrolling centre field.
